You can always feed your dog fruit, veggies, or cooked meat.
I’m not sure what is safe/healthy for a dog to eat that is normally for people, but be sure to never give you dog anything with chocolate/cocoa powder in it - it’s unhealthy, and can be fatal to your dog.
I sometimes give my dog chicken ******… no skin on it and it’s not fried. But it’s definitely cooked. I’d say that anything not fried, oily, fatty, or with chocolate is okay. Also don’t feed the dog junk food such as chips. Hope this helps!
well idk wuts ok for them cuz i never give my dog ppl food anymore. anywayz NEVER give ur dog chocolate or SALT!!! many foods have salt in them so dont risk giving him any ppl food at all. salt and chocolate are bot poisons to dogs!!
I learned that fruit or veggies are okay for dogs. But if you have a kind of dog that can get addicted to meats, like my dog (which is an American Staffordshire Terrier), don’t give them ANY meats. My dog’s kind of breed is used to bull baiting and fighting, so naturally, if you give them meat, them might go after living things… for instance, after my dog snatched raw hamburger off the counter while we weren’t looking, he now goes crazy every time he sees a cow.
Any meat, usually boiled, (remove any skin and bones) add cooked rice and veggies such as carrots, peas or green beans.
First of all, XXPINK_, I highly doubt that your staffordshire terrier understands that ground beef from the store comes from cows he sees in a field - I’m sorry, that sounds like a load of baloney. Besides, it’s my understanding that young male cattle are slaughtered for human consumption, not cows (females).
Dogs can technically live on an omnivorous diet, but any dog that lives wild, whether it is a feral dog or the dog’s cousin, the wolf, will eat meat, fat and bones every chance it gets. A wild dog’s diet is comprised of muscle and organ meats, bones, fat, and they will possibly ingest some fibrous vegetable matter if they eat any stomach or intestine contents, which they usually avoid. Aside from munching grass to help them throw up, dogs do NOT eat vegetables, grains or fruits - and most importantly, their digestive system is an extrememly harsh, short one, which breaks down meat, bone and fat beautifully but doesn’t break down those fibrous vegetables and grains.
If you want to give your dog the best diet possible, either feed him raw muscle and organ meats with raw bones, or at least get him a dry food that is meat-based (check out EVO, Canidae Grain-Free, Blue Buffalo Wilderness, or even Eagle Pack or Solid Gold, or any of the other great natural and organic foods out there) and supplement this dry food diet with raw bones and fresh (or cooked, if you must) meat and eggs. A healthy dog will have no “doggy” breath, very minimal fecal matter (because his body is using what he’s eating), healthy skin, a shiny coat and eyes, and will not come down with diet-related diseases down the road. Food truly is the best medicine, and is far easier on your wallet than expensive medicines, tonics and surgeries that you’ll buy from your vet to fix the problem after it’s too far gone.
Most dogs like and appreciate fruits, like apples, papaya, even orange, and the fresh enzymes and sugars are fine. I wouldn’t bother with fibrous vegetables but if your dog likes them, a few now and then won’t hurt them.
PLEASE keep in mind that onions, grapes/raisins, and ANY candy is very bad and fatal to canines. ESPECIALLY chocolate - the caffeine and theobromine interferes with the nervous system.
I hope this helps you! Happy New Year : )
